courage

Yesterday, I was talking to a friend in the profession about life, business, and family. I shared some things I’ve been thinking about with him, and we began discussing the importance of waiting for decisions to unfold.

He hit me with this great quote,

“We often confuse courage with always having to be about taking a leap or making change immediately, but courage is also having the patience to allow things to unfold as they are supposed to.”

I immediately grabbed my phone and typed what he said into my Notes so I wouldn’t forget it, and told him that that quote might be one of the main reasons I came to the conference–to hear those words.

Having patience can require the same amount of courage as making a drastic and quick decision.

Thanks, Toussaint!

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

The quote above repeated a quote that one of my closest friends, with whom I was staying, had said earlier in the trip while we...

You never know what’s going to hit. When I hit publish on yesterday’s Daily Note, I told my friends that I didn’t feel as if the note was my best work, but it was good enough to send out; I’ll never send a note that I don’t feel has a good message, but I will hit send even if I don’t think it’s my best writing–not everything has to be “the best”...perfection is the enemy of great. I know my friend’s quote about courage and patience was perfect, and that’s what I wanted to get out into the...
